10 Pounds of Crap in a 5 Pound Bag

I just read that, on May 3rd, at the The Norva, the following shitty bands will be performing:

  • Fall Out Boy
  • All American Rejects
  • Hawthorne Heights
  • From First To Last
  • October Fall

Where are these terrorists I keep hearing about who want to destroy America? Why can’t they pick on some of these stupid bands and leave our planes alone?

I actually have no idea who October Fall is, but even if they’re the best band on the bill, they suck by association. Hopefully, Relative Theory will book five noise-core bands, an experimental hip-hop group that plays pots and pans instead of beat machines, some HWM clone from Idaho, a stoner metal band consisting of a Japanese guy who plays piano while wearing studded leather gloves and a post-rock group with a full orchestra and bongos. All of this on the same night as this Norva show. It will rule. The other bands will make it seem like lots of people showed up.

Actually, now that I see it all written out, I hope Relative does have a show like that coming up.

    Ouch…that’s brutal Justin! Hawthorne Heights has to be one of the worst bands I have ever heard in my life. All of these “screamo” bands have that one wicked goofy-looking guy who does the background screams that really are just lame and don’t add any real intensity to the songs. Awful.

    my little sister was given the hawthorne heights album by her “boyfriend”. never have i been so emotionally impacted by music in my life. they actually sucked so bad i wanted to slit….not MY wrists….but the damned boy that spent his daddy’s money to buy the CD and then having the testicles to think my sister would want it.

    hey, i think i have a bootleg copy of that japanese guy you were talking about. saw him in battery park last fall.

    I heard the promotional for that concert on my way to work yesterday morning. I wanted to pull over on the side of the road and cry over the death of good music. I decided against it…Fall Out Boy and All American Fags aren’t worth being late for work.
