I had said once before that I didn’t think I would teach there again, but I got a call yesterday and was informed that I would be teaching a combo this next year at the Governor’s School for the Arts. Since there is not a bass student for this particular band, I am also playing bass with these kids.

They are going to kick my ass!! hahaha!

The exciting this is that I have free reign to do whatever I want.. Jazz, Funk, Rock, Latin. Contemporary music. I’m thinking that I will try to approach it like a groove-styles course and try to get everyone some exposure to new music styles.

So imagine “School of Rock” with Phillip Seymour Hoffman taking Jack Black’s role and making all of the kids learn Pass The Peas.

Or, don’t imagine that.. see if I care.
