Going to see the Pope of Mope tonight. As much as I have come to enjoy Mor­ris­sey / The Smiths’ music (and I’ve been kick­ing a scream­ing the whole time get­ting there) I really am look­ing for­ward to attend­ing the show to observe the real fans in the audi­ence. While I do expect to see some very deeply con­flicted straight men try to rush the stage at the Norva to lav­ish Moz with their con­fused affec­tions, I don’t imag­ine I will get to see many of those weird macho Mex­i­can Smiths fans. We do have a small pop­u­la­tion of Mex­i­cans in Hamp­ton Roads, but I’ve never seen any with pompadours.

Let’s just hope he lays off of the new albums and plays some old stuff.

I am really excited for Kim, she’s a huge fan and she’s prob­a­bly almost to the point of incon­ti­nence right about now.
