Morrissey at the Norva, finally.
Going to see the Pope of Mope tonight. As much as I have come to enjoy Morrissey / The Smiths’ music (and I’ve been kicking a screaming the whole time getting there) I really am looking forward to attending the show to observe the real fans in the audience. While I do expect to see some very deeply conflicted straight men try to rush the stage at the Norva to lavish Moz with their confused affections, I don’t imagine I will get to see many of those weird macho Mexican Smiths fans. We do have a small population of Mexicans in Hampton Roads, but I’ve never seen any with pompadours.
Let’s just hope he lays off of the new albums and plays some old stuff.
I am really excited for Kim, she’s a huge fan and she’s probably almost to the point of incontinence right about now.
