Refret, Pt. 2
I mentioned a few posts ago back that my bass was in need of a refret. Well I just boxed up my beloved Sadowsky 5-String today and I am shipping it off to Brooklyn from work. The UPS Store charged me 31 dollars for a “guitar box” to ship it in. I feel so raped that I want make a Lifetime original movie about my experience. Fortunately I get better rate on shipping at work so it might even out in the end.
I probably could have had it done locally for less money but no one around here does finishing in-house and since it is a maple fretboard it needs to be resprayed after the fretboard is re-leveled. I took some “before” photos of the fretboard but they didn’t come out too well and I didn’t really have time to perfect them. I am little bummed that the fretboard will have to be resprayed because it has taken me ten years to wear the finish in. I like that it looks worn and it looks played. It will take some getting used to, or maybe it will be even better.
