Not A Fan

About that new Network Manager in Ubuntu 8.10 that everyone thinks is so great: I just uninstalled that over-designed piece of crap. I use a static IP and since it kept selecting DHCP by default (even when I told it not to and even when I thought I removed the DHCP settings from the manager). So I uninstalled the Network Manager daemon and set my IP the old fashioned way. The best part of using Linux is having the option to do things like this (that is of course, when it doesn’t just work like its supposed to).
