Thinking About Making a Video
If I were to make a bass instructional vid (a la the incomparable Brett Miller), what topic would you want to see me cover in it? I have some funny concepts for the presentation, but I really want to teach something valuable instead of goofing around and / or showing off.
Do an “anti-slapping” video. I don’t know how you could do it in as much as providing something valuable or instructive – maybe show all the other cool things you could do besides slapping?
First idea of more to come.
I am pretty anti-slapping in as much as it is usually tasteless, the masters of the art are few and everyone tries to emulate them but the dudes out in the trenches need to employ slapping more sparingly.
Show how to do that thing where you put your hand the wrong way over the neck to play two notes and then quick put it back like that one guy.
